The Maxis Menu System

The Maxis control panel consists of a back-lit Liquid Crystal Display (LCD,) two soft keys, a navigational keypad, a beeper, and an On/Off switch. The LCD displays the selected device, a padlock icon, a menu item indicator and two soft key labels.

To select a different device, press the vertical scroll buttons (PREV or NEXT) or press the lower two key fob transmitter buttons.  (device selection available only with the 4 button key fob transmitter.)

Once a device is selected, you can operate the device locally from the control panel by pressing either of the soft keys located directly under the LCD or you can operate the device remotely from the hand-held key fob remote control by pressing either of the key fob's upper two buttons. (Device control available with both the 2 and 4 button key fob transmitters.)

The menu is captioned with a "N/N" in the lower left hand corner. For example, 1/7 indicates that the menu item currently displayed is number 1 of 7 at the current menu level.  This is provided to give you a sense of where you are in the menu system and how many menu items are available at the current menu level.

A padlock icon is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the LCD. During normal operation the padlock will appear open. When the Maxis is in demo mode, the padlock will be closed. Demo mode allows the Maxis to respond to control panel inputs and to key fob inputs but will not actually operate any of the connected devices. This mode is typically used when an RV is being displayed at an RV show or when you wish to prevent children from operating any of the connected devices. The Maxis should be password protected to insure that demo mode cannot be turned off by unauthorized persons.

Westhaver Associates, Inc. can customize the Maxis firmware to match the device descriptions to the devices installed in the target RV. The Maxis may be further tailored to the needs of a particular OEM in the areas of hardware capability, firmware behavior and OEM branding. Shown below is one possible Maxis configuration. The devices listed may be different or appear in a different order depending upon your particular needs.
